Till date, International Open University (IOU) has helped thousands of students gain a deep understanding of Islam through it’s remote and flexible courses. The next big step was to ensure that students from different parts of the world could understand IOU courses, irrespective of the language they speak. So IOU decided to translate it’s Bachelor of Arts in Islamic Studies (BAIS) degree into various languages.
In 2016, the International Open University collaborated with various translators to launch BAIS in Bahasa, a language spoken in Indonesia. With the immense support from our donors, we were able to succeed at this.
But the journey is far from over. This year, the International Open University has begun translating the Masters of Arts in Islamic Studies (MAIS) to the Bahasa language.
The massive fundraising drive aims to raise $60,000 to translate 9,973 document pages, 10,408 presentation slides and 449 hours of video subtitles over a span of 32 months.
