Inspired by the need for the youth of Africa to achieve University level education, the International Open University made a promise, and set a goal to provide scholarships for students who were unable to afford tuition.
We feel honored to report that so far, we have been keeping that promise.
But we still need your help to reach our goal.
Although we didn’t meet our first deadline of 2020, we are still grateful to Allah and to you.
Because of your contributions, the IOU has granted scholarships to more than 2,100 students in 13 African countries in the first 4 years.
We’ve set a new deadline of 2030!
By the mercy of Allah, and with your continued support, we work towards this goal of making it possible to provide students with not only education, but opportunities to become positive influencers and contributors to their society, and provide honest sustenance for themselves and their families.

Praying for the ease and mercy of Allah, and the good of Allah’s provision for us in this life is something that we are all encouraged to do.
But there is another way, and easy action, that Allah guarantee’s us good returns both in this life and the next!
We can even be more successful than those we see making investments into startup companies early, and reaping incredible profits later on.
Allah the Most Generous,said, “The likeness of those who spend their wealth in the way of Allah, is as the likeness of a grain (of corn); it grows seven ears, and each ear has a hundred grains. Allah gives manifold increase to whom He wills. And Allah is All-Sufficient for His creatures’ needs, All-Knower.” (Surah al Baqarah 2:261)
When you sow even a small amount of charity, Allah will increase your investment in ways that are so bountiful you can’t even imagine, and won’t be able to measure!
Wouldn’t that make your life easier?
So the truly successful are those who invest for the sake of Allah; who understand the benefit of investing in the lives of those in need.
The 1MAS initiative is still in its early stages.
As of 2021, we’ve donated a total of 2,109 scholarships across Gambia, Nigeria, Ghana, Malawi, Kenya, Somalia, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Swaziland, Namibia, Tanzania and Rwanda.
We can do better.
Please donate to this cause that will benefit the promising youth of Africa, and benefit you by earning Allah’s approval and blessings for the way you spend what He has blessed you with.
Allah instructed, “O you who believe! Spend of that with which We have provided for you, before a Day comes when there will be no bargaining, nor friendship, nor intercession. And it is the disbelievers who are the Zaalimoon (wrongdoers).” (Surah al Baqarah 2:254)
There is still a great need for your support.
We’ve set up Learning Centers in Gambia, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Uganda, Tanzania, and South Africa.
The operational cost for their upkeep is US$ 150,000 a year as of 2021.
We need 1,500 generous people to give only $100.00 each to cover this cost!
Invest in the running of these centers and your donation will bring you continuous rewards until the Day of Judgment.
Please give the youth of Africa a chance to change their nation through education by investing in this worthy project.
